Day 3: Prince Rupert to Stewart, BC / Hyder, AK

One-Lane Bridge

This one-lane bridge over the Nass River, made of wood no less, just appears around a corner with no warning signs. Luckily there was a rest area turn off just before it! Traffic coming the other way does have a sign warning to yield to on-coming cars.

The main span of the bridge is 57m and the bridge decking is 40m above the riverbed. The bridge opened in 1972 to join the roads that form Highway 37.
